The Railway Children (1970) and The Amazing Mr Blunden (1972) in a double bill. I was around 9. Then later first in the queue at my local cinema for Star Wars. Was so hyped to see it after watching a piece about the special effects on Tomorrow's World.
This is my X-Men era. Have a poster of this cover on the wall by my desk.
And tea. Lots of tea.
I was shocked today that the first item on Greatest Hits Radio bulletin wasn't small boats/hotels/Farage/Labour screwing up. Took a school shooting and the price of weight loss drugs to knock them off. They even mentioned Ed Davey's boycott.
Yep. Can't explain it, but never liked wearing short sleeved work shirts, but always have my long sleeved shirts rolled up unless it's too cold. Ties and jackets are part of the uniform in Court, and I wouldn't feel dressed without them, but optional in the offices so get ditched quickly.
Got it!
Having done some stints at different mags filling for staff shortages, it's the same situation there as well.
The book was Make Room! Make Room! by Harry Harrison, though the movie changed a lot of things.
Or Tina Turner, who was running along gantries above the crowd at 70.
Who would’ve thought we’d be living these books out? We are in perilous times.
Ian Fleming's original James Bond novels haven't aged well. For example, Moonraker - published almost exactly 70 years ago in April 1955 - features a villain who's a super-rich industrialist and rocket-maker seeking to cause chaos because he's a secret Nazi. Such a silly idea!
The mixture of CVP, PVL, and time markings has meant fewer people attending court. Or if they are, it's staggered through the day. Unlike previously, when you had all cases listed at 10.30 with everyone physically in the building.
Oops 😬
I also thought it said office, not office.
Read that the first time and thought it said staples. Bedtime I think...
Same as others, watching Channel 4. Was reading about and liked Dolphins. They were doing well with Dan Marino. Rest is history. Sometimes wish I'd been reading about Buffalos, but too late to change now.
Usually make a yearly donation, but now changed it to monthly. Thanks for the encouragement, Elon!
Watching Star Wars on ITV2. Amusing the other half by ranting at the bits George Lucas tinkered with. Yes, it's sad. But I don't care. I didn't pay good money all those years ago to see his "rough drafts".
Had a defendant in tears last week. Trial wasn't reached 'cos of other cases overrunning and adjourned till Dec 25.
