We wait to see. California watches as well as Illinois, Massachusetts and New York. Many have declared they’d also redraw to counter Texas.

It really is a showdown. If Texas redraws, so does everyone.

Abbot is trying to claim democratic lawmakers are afraid of their voters. But it is the GOP redrawing the map to silence those voters who’d voted for the representatives they’re drawing out.

It’s the GOP who’s afraid of the Texas voters.

I can tell you what Texas is doing doesn’t make me feel like I live in union. I don’t feel united. I see the states fighting and a president threatening one side with military action.

Nothing about this feels united. Nothing about this feels like democracy.

But if Texas GOP succeed in this erasure, it’ll cause an uproar. Other states will then have to redraw their district maps as well as write Texas off as a state that no longer has a democracy. They are taxation without representation if Abbott and Paxton get their way.

Abbot is clear, they’ll erase them with the map or erase them from their seats if they’re not back by 3 pm. Either way Texas GOP is bent on erasure.

Lawmakers have had to flee Texas before and the past two times were also to prevent election interference via redistricting or voter oppression.

This time is Texas’ most extreme attempt to block other party’s representation and voter voice.

It is election rigging of racial proportions.

States have not been this dangerously divided since the Civil War and it’s all Texas’ fault. When multiple states have to shelter lawmakers because one state threatens them as well as democracy, we have a serious situation.

This is a tinderbox in a lightning storm.

It’s not civil war population battle, but civil war state division in everything but the seceding.

Texas’ attempt to redraw their map erasing all but the GOP districts, is to date the most clear sign of election interference we’ve seen since Trump took office.

It is threatening every American voter’s voice.

And it may actually succeed in Civil War era level state division.
