A lot of my stories from private school are funny, like the movie one, or the time the pastor said "sup slut" as an example of how girls shouldn't talk to each other, and I thought "no that's rad actually"

In third grade I had to evangelize to someone who wasn't saved as a part of an assignment. They didn't tell me how to do this elegantly, so I just ended up telling my neighbor friend "your god isn't real". I was like.. 9.

My seventh grade bible teacher used Nightmare Before Christmas as an allegory for Christianity.

She stopped the movie when Jack got shot out of the sky and said "well there you have it".

We did not finish the movie.

The parents just gossiped about each others kids in the form of prayer requests, y'all. No such thing as privacy, the whole PTA gets to know because they wanna "pray for you".

Meanwhile their kids bully you, who woulda thought.

And yes, this was our sex ed class. If you could call it one.

This prompted my spiral into "holy fuck what world am I living in", I discovered a lot of shit, and then crashed and burned when my mental health struggles were outed to every parent and teacher I ever interacted with.

My 7th grade science teacher told us it was impossible to get pregnant from sexual assault because "women's adrenaline blocks those functions". 🙃

The only reason I challenged him was bc I regularly watched Law and Order with my mom.
