Back to it after my break. I’ve got 720517 and 131 with me for a bit. We’ve just worked to Colchester Town and we are off to London shortly as 1F77

Having worked 720129 up to London on 1Y45 I’ve now attached it to 720553 and we’ll be heading to Colchester Town with 1F42

Day 2/4 at work, picked up a 14:54 to 23:49 shift off spare. Up to London, attach then work to Colchester Town and then Colchester before my break. Second half is Colchester Town, London, Clacton and finally back to Colchester.

I had 720549 for my trip on the Harwich Branch earlier and I’ve now got 720115 for my trips on the Braintree Branch

Broken down freight train between Manningtree and Ipswich has caused a bit of chaos. Ended up in a cab to Manningtree and got here after the train I was on did 😳

Our latest finish is 02:28. I turn into a pumpkin at midnight so these jobs are not my favourite.

Another easy run this morning, not my favourite type of exercise but it’s all part of the plan. Colchester Half Marathon on Sunday so an easy week should help 🏃‍➡️

A passenger train, with two streamlined diesel locomotives hauling a van plus six passenger carriages, all painted in predominantly orange livery with silver and grey lining, approaches the camera. Today’s historic pic: Exactly 40 years ago today, B69 in short-lived VicRail Teacup livery and an A class on double-length VLine Albury-bound train no 8339 at Violet Town, Vic, March 2 1986. This broad gauge track was standardised in 2008 and this line to Albury is now double-track standard gauge.

#OnThisDay 67 years ago, the Acton Loop line between Acton Town and South Acton closed. After 1932 it was a shuttle service, a single G23 Stock car is seen at South Acton towards the end of the branch's life, the first OPO (One Person Operation) train on the Tube (credit: LURS).
