Ghosts are friends with fairies, don’t you think?

This is a digital study of an idea I want to draw with pen and ink! I’ve started working on a book illustration project about fairies and their lore, so I’ve been looking at a LOT of fairy art. Fairies on the brain now.

That sounds really fun and inspiring!

This pictures Fang, a snaggletoothed tuxedo cat at home with a couple of loyal, yet creepy friends (or should I say ‘fiends’?). A claw-toothed raven is perched on Fang’s wingbacked chair whilst a fanged rat is stationed on the carpet. A dead plant resides in a vase to the right. A full moon shines through the gothic window. This particular moon however, is a giant grinning pumpkin! It’s all quite eerie, yet in a sinisterly gleeful way, suitable for year-round viewing. Drawn in dip pen & ink with a symphony of blue & orange watercolour washes.
