A few weeks ago, I gave a keynote talk at the DataSmart 2025 conference in Trondheim. I discussed a multi-agentic system I built with #Java and open-source tools (no frameworks), emphasizing the importance of ethics. It was one of my first tech keynotes ever, and I’m grateful for the support.

More photos! Our Christmas meetup was great! For me, being a #Java Champion, is all about community. It’s about the people, our speakers and members. Also important is honoring heroes such as Steinar KjΓ¦rnsrΓΈd, on the picture with me, who was one of the original founders of JavaBin 30 years ago πŸ™πŸΌπŸ†πŸŽ„

Our JavaBin Christmas meetup about #AI and #Java was a huge success, with a record turnout on our eventπŸŽ„πŸ† Our speakers, local heroes from our community, did amazing πŸ‘πŸΌ We also served free Christmas dinner for all the attendees in true JavaBin tradition and quality. Super proud of my JUG and our team.

I’m happy it wasn’t another β€œhow to prompt” talk. You gave us important clues for using & guiding the models, & knowing how they work in the editor. More importantly, to remember to think ourselves when designing code.

A seriously good talk by @venkats.bsky.social today πŸ† It’s not another hype talk; you really learn how to use of AI with techniques in TDD in a way that give you control & understanding of the code. Two incredible hours of live coding, discussions & inspiration. Congrats Venkat, and thank you πŸ™πŸΌ

The model has a β€œstopping problem”, we need to guide it in the correct direction instead of keep generating method after method.

We just saw how the model is learning even how we format our code 🀯 We have also seen how the models keep throwing bad code at us. Venkat’s advice: Use AI for ideas, not solutions.

We, the Norwegian JUG, are hosting the β€œTest Driving Code with the Help of AI” talk with @venkats.bsky.social. The room is packed & Venkat is talking about how to model, build and test the Game of Life problem with AI & TDD. Venkat’s ability to convey knowledge is without comparison. Thanks Venkat πŸ™πŸΌ

Meeting Bjarne Stroustrup was a lifetime memory & among the many insights he had was the history of OO, including the Simula language. Among the things we talked about were the origins of the β€œclass” keyword. Here is the Simula-paper from 1967 telling you about that πŸ™‚

It has been an amazing evening, as I met & had dinner with Bjarne Straoustrup. Listening to his talk on modern #C++ in Univ of Bergen today + hearing his thoughts & advices about coding means so much. I rarely met anyone with such a deep insight into coding langs. A day to remember & a nice memory!

Did a talk about FP-style coding with #Java 23 for our Norwegian community in the west coast of Norway a week ago. Amazing nature, scenery, fjords and the cleanest and coldest water straight from the river. If you wanna see fjords then Sogndal is the place, & with a community talk is even better.
