I teach #Java, write books, and speak on Open Source. VP Data Privacy @TheASF—sharing practical insights on #Java, #Spring, & #Log4j.
Thank you Mark :-)

You are one of the most important mentors in my life, and I’m deeply grateful for everything you’ve done for me. I know who I was and how much your support helped me grow. Not only as a developer but as a human.

It’s a huge honor, and I’m grateful for everyone I’ve met in the Java universe, especially those who taught me how to code. I’m feeling happy and a little proud. 😊

24.02.2025 07:04 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It feels good when something is finished, and I just finished the article for the new Javapro magazine. It's about the history of #Log4j. Proud of it. Needed a lot of chocolate. Not from #Java though, but #Japan :)

07.02.2025 18:08 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I came to like Asciidoc. I wrote a small docker container to help build my files: github.com/grobmeier/gr.... It's not creating a print-ready PDF, but it works for my purposes. I can also speak good of Leanpub (as suggested).

02.02.2025 10:33 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This year is the year! After log4shell hit, I started again with #Java and #OpenSource related public talks. I want to take this more seriously and plan to travel through Germany and visit JUGs or conferences. Usually, I travel at my own expense to attend community talks. Feel free to get in touch.
31.01.2025 12:23 — 👍 6 🔁 2 💬 0 📌 0I grew up without books. No stories. No beautiful words. No education. At 16, I started to learn, and my now-wife, at 20, gave me her books. Today, at 46, it still hurts to look back. I am angry. My road was hard, far too hard. No one should have to walk on it.
