The only sliver of hope is the state dems suing (which they're doing) and not getting absolutely trounced at the supreme court - and, if there's a free election in 2 years, voters waking up.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I think you're genuinely trying to find hope in this mess, but I think it's false hope. None of the court cases have any bearing on appointments. Protests will do nothing but end up w/dead or deported protesters. There is no better plan because there are no options.

As for how Republicans did what they did...they got the House to hamper Obama, and they had two dem defectors during Biden's term. We have neither of those things. We have to deal w/what we have, not the numbers facing Obama or Biden. That's the reality at this moment.
The rest changes nothing. It makes the process a little longer (until those rules are changed), but again - we have done nothing.
These are all empty gestures. Confusing angry noise for doing something.
Which again...is why we are here. Because people preferred noise for boring but effective action.
