been a while since i read a completed shoujo (3 volumes), the ending was sweet! what mainly makes me sad is that the drawings being very good doesn't make people turn their heads anymore nowadays

flashback arc literally ended with the last chapter so pretty good time to binge without having to fear (massive) cliffhanger

why does olruggio even wear those loose wide sleeves if every time he needs to draw he has to tuck them away. like is it just his insistent fashion sense

the way spellcasting is essentially drawing makes it really relatable + also makes the whole "kids are now a vital component in solving a bigger catastrophe" a lot more believable because there really are just 16yo artists out there that can do what an experienced artist can (and even better orz)

for the fact that wha is such a high fantasy setting, they are, time and time again, referring to real issues and dynamics really smoothlessly which makes it a great candidate for rereading

it's classic in the way that it takes its time to ramp up (which is fine to me! lots of my favorites are the kind where you have to be patient so it's a good marker for something that i'll stick with for longer)
