Ah, so you flip the order in the RAW. That's interesting! Roll and then try to modify it if the player needs to. I haven't seen the mechanic used that way yet. Thank you, Jeffrey. 🤔
You will be unsurprised to hear that I have no problem with Richard Tice avoiding £600k in tax.
I always thought that it was a pity that Marvel were short_sighted when they pulled the licence. 😭
Hahaha. I shouldn't try to teach an old dog new tricks! 🤣🤣
Didn't CORTEX start as Marvel Heroric Role playing?
"Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, which was released in 2012 by Margaret Weis Productions and used the Cortex Plus system, was designed by a team led by Cam Banks."
"Can we all just get along ..." Rodney king
No kids, so my wages feed my hobbies/habits! 🤣🤣
Well, okay, it was a bit more than that, because I paid for the VTT integration too!
I resisted getting Numera though! So that's a win!
Yay. Go me! 🫣😭😭
Reform UK are the tax avoidance party
Nigel Farage - Reform UK leader.
Richard Tice - spokesperson for State for Business, Trade, and Energy.
Robert Jenrick - Treasury spokesperson.
"Christians have oppressed other faiths, and each other, during their centuries of power, preaching religious intolerance as the word of God whenever they had the military, political, or economic power to make it stick, and then piously preaching brotherhood, peace, and toleration when they didn't."
I personally love the free-form, be-anything style of those games but cannot balance the min-maxers against the casual players, and so lose the interest of half my table long term. They don't have anything laid out in the rules for them to work towards. Not something I yet have a solution to.
I don't quite know how to phrase this but games like Champions, GURPS, Simply6, etc. don't have the structure to character development that level based games do. E.g. this means two Champions 100pt characters are not necessarily comparable, simply based on player skill at building characters.
Sanction is cool. Despite its Marvel origins, Cortex never grabbed me. I made a few tweaks to Questworlds and published them but could never get it to my table long-term. I'm a big fan of Simply6 but under the hood, it has lots in common with Cypher. Not a bad thing, but poor feeling of advancement.
I went all in on the KS and then wondered 'why did you do that? You've never played the previous editions.'
Maybe it's more popular across the pond?
Anyway, I am determined to get at least some play out of my £300 this time! 🤣
Yet with just that many days to go, they’ve not announced a single candidate.
- Reform UK only comes out during elections.
- Reform UK is worried about scrutiny of their candidates.
Never played it so was looking for feels and vibes from those who had! At least you are proof that I am not screaming into a void though! Thank you!
919 followers, and none of you play Cypher?
"...his property company paid nothing in corporation tax on its multimillion-pound profits for most of 2018 to 2021."
It's incredibly clear who Reform UK really fight for and it's not the British people.
Was Narnia the first?
How it started vs how it’s going.
(Note Farage arriving by helicopter)
Richard Tice loves Britain. Just not quite enough to pay his fair share towards all the public services he benefits from.
The war will be over when Putin tells him it's over.
It's probably a good lesson for everyone. At work now, I never say 'I will try'. I either commit to the request, and commit time to it, or I say no, and give them other options or people they can ask. There used to be a Plain English Campaign; whatever happened to it?
This is a good lesson for journalists: Use plain language to state true things clearly.
"...Mr Jakstys' mobile phone started broadcasting out loud..."
These paragraphs from the "smart glasses" case are for the ages.

LOL, why is everyone arguing about bullet points? In a hobby where 99% of games go unplayed, I reckon it’s not because of paragraphs versus bullet points.
🤣
It sounds really silly, but I am so happy right now because of Torg.
Torg is my first RPG love, but it's clunky as fuck. I've always wanted to streamline and revise it.
To finally be doing so, to be actively thinking about it and actually working on it, just makes me feel good.
10/10, recommended
Farage has created a big problem for himself this week.
He's been caught out lying. Again.
Telling us all that Reform UK didn't promise to cut taxes on their pre-election propaganda material.
Another Trump move. The ole 'deny reality and get angry' two-step.
People are speculating that Benjamin Netanyahu was killed with his brother in a strike by Iran.
This doesn’t read like a denial.
