Bei der Schießerei in Berlin-Kreuzberg gestern sind nach jüngsten Erkenntnissen mindestens 3 Personen verletzt worden. Laut Staatsanwaltschaft wurde in der Adalbertstraße aus einem Fahrzeug heraus auf eine Menschengruppe geschossen.

Nick Hornby on Substack Before I was published, I used to write about books for the Sunday Times. One week I was sent off to interview Jilly Cooper, who died on Sunday. She had a new novel out, Polo. I liked her a lot, but I was also a bit snotty, more a fan of Raymond Carver and Lorrie Moore than what at the time was called the bonkbuster, and I tried to talk to Cooper about her literary style. “There is a scene in here,” I said, “In which a woman’s nipples go as hard as biro caps.” “Is there really?” she said, and laughed. “It’s not a terribly sexy image, is it?” “No,” she said. “It’s really not. But I’ll tell you what probably happened, Nick. I was in a tearing hurry, and I looked at my desk, and there are always biro caps on your desk, aren’t there? And I thought, Oh, that will do.” Her candour took the wind out of my sails somewhat, and I abandoned that line of questioning. People love Jilly Cooper’s books. They live on. Who’s to say there’s a right way of doing things?
