Good morning and I hope you're having a good start to your #fingerpostfriday
This one is in the "Valley" (or Nant y Sgrwngi if you're being formal) in Cemaes Bay.
For the third day running, we have a gang of six house sparrows in our garden clearing up seeds under the feeders. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Thank you! π
Snap! Seven house sparrows were on or around our feeders this morning but oh my, the wind! How the sparrows are strong enough not to be blown away is beyond me!
I've just looked up the collective noun for sparrows - host, quarrel or ubiquity. Mine definitely quarrel π
Sparrowtatstic! π Can I please steal this?
I see. I hope you can get a permanent fix sorted soon π€
I'm glad you've got your camera sorted even if it's a temporary bodge. The photos look good to me.
My brain was foggy when I was filling the feeders. A bird flew over and called so not 100% sure that it was a grey wagtail. So I settled with the #FirstBirdOfMyDay being a gang of 5 house sparrows that came to the feeders when I went inside.
Two collared doves parading on the lawn while a handful of starlings click, chatter and whistle (I'm sure one had a kazoo!). #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Same with my uncle and grandad.
A joint FBOMD too with a rook gliding past one of our neighbour's houses and a blackbird popping up from behind our wood store. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Sorry to hear that. I hope your camera can be fixed.
I'd rather have therapy for being in 3rd place than 10th. Although Init sure my ticker could take many more results like this
Phew! Good reactions Hannah. The FBOMD was a pied wagtail sitting on a telephone wire overlooking our back garden - 'Chiswick, Chiswick'. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
What a result! I'm still shaking.
Good morning and I hope you're having a good #PostboxSaturday
This VR wall box is at Daisy Hill, Westhoughton.
A charm of 9 or so goldfinches in my mum's next door neighbour's tree brightened up a dull start to the day. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Good morning and I hope you're having a good #fingerpostfriday
This fingerpost is at Cemaes Bay, Anglesey and marks the way of the Anglesey Coastal Path.
Goid morning from a wet Greater Manchester. I'm back at my mum's and on her neighbours roofs are a wood pigeon, two starlings and a house sparrow staring down at mum's back garden. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
We watched the first four episodes twice before watching the last two just to savour them and delay the ending. We then watched the last two and they are still echoing around my head. We'll probably watch them again on Sunday. Perfect programme π
I have barn owl envy!
The FBOMD were a charming pair of goldfinches on our feeders, one on the nyger seeds and the other on the sunflower hearts. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Vandal! π
I opened the blinds to see 2 starlings chasing each other at the bottom of the street. We call 'our' starlings 'vandals' as when I fill the seed feeders they attack them and fling the seed everywhere, a bit like Sesame Street's Cookie Monster. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Nice one!
17 large gulls glided eastward along the coastal path towards the harbour as me and Sophie were on the garden. A cronking raven was the only sound on this lovely spring morning. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Saw this red flower on the end of a hazel bud in the Ugly House car park in North Wales yesterday.
A collared doves sat on our fence waiting patiently while Sophie sniffed around the borders. As soon as we went in the dove from above dropped to the lawn followed quickly by house sparrows, starlings, blue tits, jackdaws, a blackbird, a magpie and a dunnock. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
We've just watched the last episode of Small Profits. What a series! Funny, sad and emotional all rolled into one perfect programme.
Lovely photo of a masked bandido!
Early start this morning and the FBOMD was a lesser black backed gull in a field a few minutes away from home. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
