Another important measure that was signed into law last week that I strongly backed was Senate Bill 1740, which initiates the reduction of unnecessary school code mandates agreed upon by statewide educational stakeholders.

It was an honor to speak with Rush University's Road Home Program administrators & staff. The Road Home Program offers mental health support to veterans free of charge. Through the guidance of Senator Michael Hastings, we were able to secure $1M for expansion.

To remember those who have given their lives is absolutely necessary. I had the honor and the privilege to attend the Street Naming Ceremony in memory of Joliet native Staff Sergeant Jose Duenez, Jr.
