“The right people voting” means the people who will vote for the current administration. Unless they’re women, then they can piss off.
“The right leaders” means the pedophile class, oligarchs, or others willing to do the bidding of Xtian Nationalists and white nationalists. And Russia.
You hit the nail on the head there. This is absolutely part of the plan to remove all rights from women and reduce them to accessories to men.
This is terrifying. Read through the whole thread (you’ll have to click “show more” a couple of times).
Thank you to all attorneys who are fighting for their clients against ICE and DHS under the current regime (yes, I’m purposely using regime instead of administration).
No more “Our diversity is our strength.”
That sounds like he wants an army of clones. I think I’ve seen this movie.
I’m getting Moonraker vibes from this.
The American Beacon. Tagline: a beacon of hope
Re: your first ? yes, there was an alternate show put together by an org because BB isn’t “white enough” and isn’t “American enough”. (I feel dirty just typing that.) Nvm that Puerto Rico is US territory and residents are citizens. Or that non-US bands play at the Superb Owl. Racists gonna racist.
*gasp*
How DARE you deadname a news source!

This is lovely.
Best tip I ever saw for getting crispy roasted potatoes is to put the baking sheet in the oven while the oven is preheating. Then you put (sweet) potato pieces that have been tossed with a little oil on the hot pan. They should sizzle. Stir once about halfway through cooking time.
And now that other seat is free to hold more bags of yarn! Win-win.
Baa-bsled!
“If our government does not do more than keep money flowing into the coffers of rich men, then it will fail. Our people are tired of fear and the whims of rich men too.”
“Government ought to let everyone live free from fear that someone with more power will take away what they have. If it cannot do that, for everyone, then frightened people will overthrow it.”
Came across this in the novel I’m reading:
If men are subject to law depending only on how they are born, we must stay in our places like cages until we die.
Seems applicable today, though the book is set in Regency England.
More from this book in comments.
I’m speechless with rage, so I’m just going to emoji this one 🤬🤬🤬😡😡😠😠😡🤬🤬
There is “me”, which is almost the same.
Tonight’s #laserdisc viewing: Caligula (1979)
I don’t think I’ve watched something with as many naked bits on screen, ever.
And I keep expecting to see see Hedonism Bot from Futurama in a scene or two.
If that’s the untoned flappy arm that older women tend to have, I’ve most often heard it called “bingo wings”, because they flap when one waves an arm while crying Bingo!
I knew that, it was my poor attempt at humor.
This sequel/reboot is acceptable. It feels a little repetitive, but it’s not awful.
Definitely watch this if your choices are this and Melania.
15 years ago, this would have been on the front page of Regretsy.
This pops up on Reddit in PettyRevenge fairly frequently. You can go to the site and submit a lost password request using the email address. Then go in and create a little havoc.
Yes, it’s a distraction. From the things the White House doesn’t want in the spotlight: Epstein files, tariffs, affordability, voting rights, health care, Gaza, Ukraine, and the US completely failing as a productive, cooperative member of the world.
It’s apparently hat month over here.
1) Callisto hat, this month’s hat from Kelbourne’s Year of DK Hats.
2) Poop on Fascists. Yarn is Berroco Lanas Light.
3) Melt the ICE hat, knit in some deep stash sport weight Classic Elite. I think I need to make the next few deeper.

Yarn is Show Stopper in Red Handed
Knitters! You can make a pin version of the Melt the ICE Hat in a fraction of the time. Use Fingering weight, size US4 needles and CO 36. Rib for about 1 1/2”, then place markers every 9. Continue as pattern specifies, but move decreases 1 stitch closer to markers.

Right?! I didn’t make those because I had to get them all packed and shipped in time. I expect some of my niblings (who are all over age 18) to have chicken fights with them.
This week’s #ShowMeYourKnits is #GarterStitch.
I’m not a huge fan of garter stitch, but a comment from another user reminded me that Emotional Support Chickens count. I made a whole flock of them (and Junior ones) for Christmas presents. ESCs made from chunky yarn fit in pet carriers.
I made ESCs and ESC Juniors for my siblings and niblings this Christmas, and packed them in pet carrier boxes. They were a hit. And a great way to use bits left from other projects.
