This evening, a special delivery arrived—a care package from my mom, filled with her signature love and creativity: Peppermint Bark, Chocolate-Covered Cherries, Christmas Candy Crack, Cherry Bon Bons, Cinnamon Roll Cookies, Pistachio Cherry Cookies, Coconut Jewels, Fruitcake Cookies, and Bourbon-Glazed Ginger Cookies. Mom’s way of saying “I love you” has always been through her baking. Growing up, we had classics like Bon Bons, and every year she adds something new to keep us surprised. Her Valentine’s Pink Frosted Hearts made us feel loved, Shamrock cookies in March brought a little luck, and Thanksgiving pies made us feel like we had it all. The kitchen is where her heart shines brightest—a wooden spoon in hand, the sweet smell of something magical wafting from the oven. It’s how she shows her care, year after year. We’re so grateful for a mom who has always been there, filling our lives with warmth, sweetness, and love. Thank you, Mom, for everything you’ve done for us and continue to do. You are so loved.

Once found roaming the streets of Greensboro, NC, I went from a kill shelter to a no-kill shelter, to a loving foster mom, and finally landed the good life with my two dads. I thrive on attention, bark at every moving critter, and demand breakfast sharp at 5 AM!

One bowl shaped from the earthy Laguna #60 with Manganese Speck clay, three mugs with handles sculpted from the smooth Laguna B-Mix, and a tumbler, handle-free, yet full of character. I pressed dimples into the tumbler with a polished piece of citrine I carried in my pocket that night—each mark made with love and optimism for the future. Still in its greenware stage, it will soon meet the fires of Mordor, then return for its second transformation with glaze. A journey of creation, fired with hope.

Stamped 5 pottery pieces Thursday night! Just wrapped up working with textured brown clay, now onto buttery smooth white clay. Hoping to have a few pieces ready for Christmas gifts—fingers crossed! November chills are settling in, skies are grey, and mist is in the air. ❄️
