Nowhere is safe from the scourge of gun violence in America. You can't tell me we must simply accept it.
Disgusting. No other words.
Ridiculous framing from @nj.com - this woman is the county chair of Moms for Liberty, and was last in the news when she accused a local pastor/church of supporting pedophilia because they flew a pride flag. We have to stop giving these people even an ounce of respectability.

And when I said these people (well, most people) lack an emotional education or healthy examples of emotional processing, and that we would all pay for allowing that to continue, I was told to get out of here with that soft shit.
One of the regular themes at my local BoE meetings is simply parents saying they don’t want to have uncomfortable conversations with their kids. They’ll complain about SEL education but then prove why they need it in the same breath.
Yes, very much so speaking of "parental rights" and learning comes from home, but also very much quick to blame everyone else. In my experience, the kids who have been the most repressed and not given the opportunities to learn about the world have been the ones to act out later.
It gives more of a sense of merely picking the topic of the hour to be angry about and going all in.
Can there be more improvements made to academics? Sure. But to the detriment of the "whole child"? No thanks. These are the same people who will post things about not worrying if your child is the smartest or most athletic, but wanting them to be the kind one. It doesn't make sense.
The push to "get back to focusing on a proper education" and basically teaching to the tests does our children such a disservice. We are trying to raise whole people with feelings, emotions, etc., not merely robots who can memorize math and science.
They tried to push "the values of our community" in an almost us vs them (the school district) way and yet they do NOT speak for the entirety of the town by any means.
