He had to fire her that way to keep from scaring the other sycophants.

She’ll quietly disappear in the months to come.

If JD was intent on telling the truth he’d admit Noem got shit-canned for enriching someone with a last name other than Trump.

Big mistake: she handed $220,000,000 to one of HER cronies. No Trumps were invited to skim.

It used to be fun staying up all night. At this point in my life (65) I’m getting closer to going to bed before sunset.

It’s still dark when I get up these days.

I get what you’re saying, but if someone has 18 years in the military, they’re within just a couple of years of qualifying for retirement, that’s different than walking away from a career. That’s walking away from a retirement income.

There’s motivation to stick it out.

We weren’t specifically talking about you. I was merely using your profession as an example.

Someone who is in the military stationed somewhere other than where they’re originally from abruptly quitting is different than someone who takes a different job across town if they’re a federal employee.

It’s clearly unethical, and likely wouldn’t be allowed to stand if there’s any investigation.

Lack of an investigation is definitely criminal on the part of DOJ, which should be independent.

In the end they’ll probably all go down together, but you’re right. There’s not a specific violation.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 7, this provision states that the President’s salary cannot be increased or decreased while in office. It also bars the President from receiving any "other Emolument" from the federal government or any state.

Carter had to put his peanut farm in a trust. It was mismanaged while he was president, so he had to sell it after he left office.

If you’d been in JAG when Trump came into office, you wouldn’t be able to quit without it negatively impacting your career. If you’d been working at the DOJ, you could just get another job, no problem.

When we talk about serving in the military, we often think combat, but it’s a career choice too.

I was a carpenter in the army in Germany & fort Riley early 1980s. I was also in the Kansas Army National Guard

Were you in the military yourself?

Not everyone who serves in the military has to dodge bullets or missiles.

Yes, everyone trains for war, but not everyone is exposed to combat.

That movement’s about preserving the future of the individual service member.

It was never about ‘solving this shitshow’.

They’re just doing a job not significantly different from other government employees except they signed a contract to a particular time commitment so they can’t just quit.

A surprise would be if there’s not records of Trump sexually assaulting aliens.

The only reason that’d be a surprise is because he’s ACTUALLY releasing those files.

If Congressional democrats can get Pam Bondi to claim Trump was cognizant of tax money she’d spent enriching someone other than Trump and/or his greedy progeny, she’ll be gone by COB the next day too.

That’s clearly the only thing that triggers him to fire his grossly inept minions.

Historically.

I believe Texas republicans have been stealing elections for a long time. I don’t think Cruz beat Beto.

Either of the running democrats would likely win in a fair election.

I suppose it depends on who you are, what you do for a living etc.

I can think of no upside.

If either one of them can beat the Republican, I’d much rather it be her that takes the seat.

Is there a societal upside to the negative economic impacts brought on by the bubble burst when it becomes clear to AI financiers that there’s no increased income stream expected from AI?

I doubt it’ll provide a service I’ll ever pay for.

I won’t even pay for cloud service to Apple or Microsoft.
