The James Webb Space Telescope's Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) captured this striking image of Arp 142, a pair of interacting galaxies. Their close encounter has distorted their shapes and triggered a burst of star formation. A bridge of gas and dust stretches between the two galaxies, showcasing the violent and dynamic nature of galactic interactions.
