Because of economic forces around college hoops, the Maui Invitational's future fields are likely to be a lot less compelling than what we've grown accustomed to over the past four decades. That's a real downer, because this tournament is blessed and needs to continue and optimal capacity forever.

I forgot Rhody. Tier 1 if you stay in Newport. Tier 3 if you don’t.
Bona on a Monday night is brutal. Some good salt-of-the-earth dives otherwise.
Fordham ain’t in Manhattan or Brooklyn, which would both be top tier.
Davidson improves dramatically if you stay in Charlotte.
