Tánaiste Simon Harris will ask the Cabinet to approve the drafting of a bill to prohibit the importation of goods from illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The Tánaiste said he hopes it will encourage other countries to do the same in an effort to move towards a ceasefire.

Pope Francis will be laid to rest on Saturday. President Michael D. Higgins, Sabina Higgins, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, and Tánaiste Simon Harris will be in attendance.

Today is the last day for mourners to pay their respects to the late Pope Francis. Over 90,000 people from around the world have already flocked to Saint Peter's Square before tomorrow's funeral.
