As our CEO Nicola McCrudden, speaking at the Covid-19 Inquiry has said, the connections between health and homelessness need to be built into strategy permanently – not just activated in a crisis.

Homelessness is more than the absence of a home - it’s the loss of stability, safety and the chance to move forward. By listening, learning and acting together, we can help create a future where no one is left without support or hope.

Homelessness isn’t just the loss of a home - it’s the loss of stability, safety and opportunity. Together, we can change that.

As we mark Homelessness Awareness Week, we’re asking NI to look past statistics and see the people behind them.
The @irishnews.com has shared a powerful story of someone who knows first-hand the fear and isolation of homelessness - but also the difference support, compassion & connection can make.
We believe that the research we conduct, when paired with lived experience is unstoppable. We are proud of this feedback given by an attendee from our workshops run along with Homeless Connect.

This Homelessness Awareness Week, we’re asking the public to look beyond the statistics and #SeeThePerson behind every story.
#HAW25 #SeeThePerson
From children growing up with uncertainty, to families waiting for somewhere to call home, to older neighbours struggling to keep warm and keep a roof over their heads - housing insecurity can affect anyone, at any time.
Compassion fatigue is real, and unfortunately, NI is no exception. As political, public, and media narratives grow increasingly divisive, it can become all too easy to forget our shared humanity.
That’s why we have chosen #SeeThePerson as the theme for this year’s Homelessness Awareness Week.
📅1 December marks the start of Homelessness Awareness Week 2025
At Housing Rights, we strengthen the safety nets to keep people in their homes through our advocacy and casework teams, legal team, and Beyond the Gate project.
#SeeThePerson
Our first quote of the week is from one of the Experts by Experience from Homeless Connect who has attended the workshops we have facilitated.

The support provided by @actionforchildren.bsky.social shows the impact of early intervention and compassionate, specialist help. Homelessness is not only the loss of a home - it’s the loss of stability and opportunity. Read more: www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/norther...
#HAW25 #SeeThePerson
As we mark Homelessness Awareness Week, we’re urging everyone in Northern Ireland to look beyond the headlines and recognise the people behind them. Today’s @belfastlive.co.uk story highlights the challenges faced by a young person who experienced homelessness as a child.
@homelessconnect.bsky.social This #HomelessnessAwarenessWeek, we’re dedicated to the theme: #SeeThePerson. Stay tuned this week for quotes from those who took part in the workshops and our research facilitators about the impact of them.
@homelessconnect.bsky.social
By choosing to #SeeThePerson, we are reminded of the importance of responding with empathy, compassion and humanity. We need solutions that place people at the centre of housing and homelessness support.
