as it has happened many time before. Maeth only feels like a worthless wretch without any purpose, agonizing in his own solitude when Sceleritas finaly finds him.

Context for Maeth at that time, he's in his late teenage years/young adult, he has spent many years living alone in the streets of Baldur's Gate, isolating himself completely, fearing that his uncontrollable urges would take away from him every soul he's ever been around, or get attached to,
