Karl-Heinz Rummenigge criticises increasing player power and their agents - Get German Football News Speaking exclusively to Kicker, former Bayern Munich CEO - now a member of the supervisory board - Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has criticised the increasing power

There's a good interview in Kicker with Bayern Munich's Rummenigge, which covers the increasing power of players & agents. Gives a warning to clubs: "Every club has a responsibility not to let agents become too powerful. You have to show strength." - full quotes on the matter below.

Still worrying that there's no news on the Bundesliga rights. However, I did DM the Sky team on the other platform and got this response. Odd how they say 'new' since they've shown it exclusively since 2021. And more worrying that there's still no announcement, or sign of one.

3 reasons to watch the 2. Bundesliga - Get German Football News The 2. Bundesliga resumes on Friday night with Schalke 04 hosting Hertha Berlin. Here's three reasons you should watch Germany's second division.

At @getfootballnewsgermany.com, we've looked at three reasons you should be watching the 2. Bundesliga this season, or any season for that matter.

There's also some cracking games this weekend. Darmstadt-Bochum, Paderborn-Kiel, Bielefeld-Dusseldorf, Hannover-Kaiserslautern.

2. Bundesliga starts today with none other than a heavyweight clash between Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC. Imagine this season will again be as unpredictable as ever. Interesting to see how former Plymouth Argyle manager Mario Muslic does at S04.

Bradley Barcola, Rafael Leao, Nico Williams, Florian Wirtz, Cody Gakpo et al. But Bayern Munich makes Luis Diaz their big money signing (€75m). No doubt an upgrade on Leroy SanΓ© but if it does work (will probably look to replace him in 3 years), then that's a big outlay of money.

Galatasaray have spent €76.65m on transfers in the last two seasons, Gabriel Sara being their biggest outlay (€18m). Victor Osimhen and Álvaro Morata (~€6m salary) also joined on loan. Not to mention that Osimhen is expected to join permanently for €75m. Millot won't come cheap, either.

Absolutely. Still think Stuttgart had a good season (two points off Europe) but in comparison to when they finished runners-up, a huge difference.

I hope that Freiburg cope with the added workload of European football, unlike Union Berlin - who finished one place above the relegation playoff - in the 2023/24 season. I do feel as though SCF are a little more stable in that aspect.

Julian Schuster - born in Baden-WΓΌrttemberg - played 242 games across all competitions before retiring in 2018 where he was then assistant coach to Christian Streich. Replacing him last summer after Streich's departure, Schuster has taken Freiburg back into Europe, averaging 1.65 PPM.

From Christian Streich (12 years as head coach in his only managerial role) to Jochen Saier, who's been at the club since '03 - and has been sporting director since '14. Very impressive signing by RB Leipzig. Beat both Leverkusen and Dortmund (although I'm not sure how concrete BVB's interest was) to sign Belgian Johan Bakayoko for €22m. Yan Diomande also arrives from Leganes. If they keep Sesko and Openda, they look strong heading into next season.

34 goal contributions (22G + 12A) in 48 games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season. Leads the way for npxG/90 (0.68) in the Bundesliga last season, and is in the 96th percentile for progressive carries and successful take-ons.

Borussia Dortmund and Niko Kovac are crying out for a No. 6, but club bosses have other priorities. There's no doubt that BVB are one of the more consistent teams in Germany at the moment, but they really need to strengthen at defensive-midfield.

Borussia Dortmund getting ~€65m from Chelsea for Jamie Gittens, I think is excellent business. Obviously has a high ceiling, but just doesn't suit Niko Kovac's style of football, and played a bit-part role towards the end of the season. Started just 5 of 12 games in the Bundesliga under Kovac.

I have been quietly impressed with the work that Augsburg are doing. Appointed Sandro Wagner as their new head coach, and today confirmed the arrival of Benni Weber - a former analyst under Tuchel at M05, BVB, PSG & Chelsea - as sporting director from Paderborn. Is known for his youth development.

Bayern Munich agree transfer with Nick Woltemade - Get German Football News Bayern Munich and Nick Woltemade have reached a full verbal agreement on a summer transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Bayern Munich have tonight reached an agreement with Nick Woltemade. Don't expect him to move on the cheap though. Stuttgart should command a fee between €50m-€60m. Has been one of the Bundesliga's best performers.

Nick Woltemade is such a unique profile. 6'6", but he's way more than just a target man. Excellent movement, loves dropping deep but remains a threat in the box. Enjoying a breakout season in his first year at Stuttgart: 33 games, 17 goals, 3 assists.

6G, 3A in the Euro U21 tournament, too.
