An 8x4 ceramic tile in arts and crafts style with an image of a turtle dove holding an olive branch of above its head and swirling down to its wing.. Two sprigs of holly decorate the upper borders and below is the word "Peace". A small border of green surrounds the entire tile. The background of the dove is in a soft ivory.

A plain jiggered bowl by the Saturday Evening Girls turned upside down. I'm holding a test tile next to it showing that the glaze I made almost matches the color of the bowl perfectly.

This was the blue I was trying to match. Yes, that's a Saturday Evening Girls bowl, a generous gift from hubby 💕.
I think that's pretty darn close!

I'm back from a week in Las Vegas... And certainly not rested, but had a great time. Back to work today finally! The SEG style Lotus bowl is hopefully for the Empty Bowls auction in Carson City.

I always get drawn back to Al Gore telling voters that he’d only raise taxes on the top 1% and then after the election a poll showed that something like 20% of voters thought they were in the top 1% and another 20% thought they would be in the next five years. Just a total tragic disconnect.

Grape leaves in the fall. I've already had some sleepless nights planning the glaze for this one. I've changed my mind 100 times so far about the combinations. Maybe I can start glazing tomorrow, or maybe I have to think some more.

It's very nice. Tons of people use to collect canes as art. Hard to find now. I'd love to see a comeback. Changeable heads would be cool too.

Did you know that the woody petals of the pinecone are called "bracts" and the bit at the end that's sharp sometimes is called the "umbo"? I certainly didn't.
