at Activision we used HOT PINK SQUARES with giant black lettering that said "DELETE ME!!!" as placeholders.
you can use literally anything else as a placeholder. use a meme, use an image from your other IPs, use pet photos, stick figures, ANYTHING ELSE.
people are saying the devs have removed the AI assets due to community backlash, but if they were willing to use them in the first place it makes me question if any of the assets were actually done in-house and if any of the code was generated too.
really hate when I see a cozy game that looks like sheer perfection then I find out they not only used genAI for some assets but also did not disclose it until they were called out by content creators (it's Hozy, btw).
