Oh yeah for sure. And it felt very uniquely "American" in that in addition to being "a bunch of slow old guys," I saw WCW as that "yee-haw" redneck promotion from down south for people who like country music and NASCAR.

Oh that reminds me too: WCW. Totally drank the WWF Koolaid as a teen and dismissed WCW as a bunch of old guys lumbering around. Way more appreciation for it now thanks to @notthattomgreen.bsky.social and @how2wrestling.bsky.social, and see how its death was a disaster for the industry long-term.

Teenage me was INCREDIBLY wrong about William Regal. Modern me didn't really think much of Fletcher either way and didn't understand making him a singles guy, but I turned around on that very quickly.
