Compassion Corner Davis, only sketch I managed this week. Knackered, very busy first week of my 50s.

This is the worst Spurs team of my lifetime. And I watched us when we had Ramon Vega. He was like Franz Beckenbauer compared to this lot.

Fog was so thick this morning. It’s like my head on the inside.

Awful first half, much better second half, I’ll take the 2-2 draw. Nice equalizer from Big Dom, United up next.

Spurs are doing well so far, good to see Solanke score the goal of the season (Puskas Award now please, Hungary). Dortmund’s coach looks like Littlefinger from game of thrones. Come on Tottenham!

Went to Armadillo Music yesterday and sketched it after buying a record. Had a couple of beers at their little bar, watched the fog descend outside. #daviscalifornia

Let’s Draw Davis met at the library today, a very foggy morning, good day for some sketching though! Lot of people came, some great results. Here are mine.

I should get up for a run this morning, but staying in bed seems like a better plan.

Spent the day in San Francisco, exploring around Haight. Don’t usually go up that area but it was good, nice to get out & about. Lot of time in Ameoba. Did some sketching. Long journey home, the trains are so expensive now. Get home, the News is just so depressing, worse every day.

Also RIP Terry Yorath, football legend.

Of course today was Bowie’s birthday, actually Saturday is ten years since his death. Still I drew my record player and listened to the picture disc of Golden Years my mate James got me for my birthday 10 years ago, also my old Let’s Dance record I got second hand in Notting Hill many years ago

Ten years already since Bowie died. The world has been bad since. It’s a week of sad anniversaries. Tomorrow is ten years since our friend Stats professor Peter Hall died, and this week was also ten years since our other friend Stats Emeritus Prof Alan French died, members of our dept at UC Davis.

RIP Martin Chivers. Tottenham LEGEND.

Was downtown sketching this today, needed to draw before it got all rainy again. Coloured it in later. This is in those little alleys between D & E. I call them
D Sharp. I don’t really but I will now.

Here’s my updated annual sketch tracking chart, with the column for 2025 added. I did way more in 2025 than the previous year (which was a big year of sketching for me), doubt 2026 will be as productive but who knows. Happy new year, keep on sketchin’.

That spurs brentford game was a real New Year’s Day slog. Nobody can pass the ball.

I did more sketching in 2025 than any other year so far tho, it was my most productive by a long way.

I feel like such a grinch on new year, used to enjoy it when I was young. Now after living over here 20 years it’s like big deal, just the date changing like every day, and everyone else I know celebrated it hours ago. 2026 is just more 2025, I’ll celebrate when things are better. Bah Humbug.
