A painting of Primrose Cottage (1903) at the Milton sea Lock, Eastney, #Portsmouth. The canal was shut down and filled in many moons ago though the sea lock remains. This #painting was my raffle prize at my talk on art with the Portsmouth Urban Sketchers Group.

It is great to be a part of the Wells Art Contemporary Exhibition this year. I and 49 other artists have designed skateboard decks which will be showing.
2025 show will be open every day between 8 October and 1 November 2025
The Cathedral is open from 9am to 4.30pm seven days a week. Come along!
I cycled a couple of miles up the road to the local village of Pylle, #Somerset. Whilst there I produced this small oil #painting of the village #church dedicated to St Thomas Γ Becket. This church featured in the John Le Carre book, A Murder of Quality.

Columbia Road Flower Market goes back to 1869. It served the old local French Huguenot population who were keen on cut flowers, they were also keen on caged song birds too, and one of the streets pubs is still called βThe Birdcageβ as an echo of this time.

A Saddleback Pig
From time to time, you hear stories of pigs escaping onto vegetable plots. Once they do, they happily eat themselves senselessβa disaster, though still slightly amusing. That mix of character and charm struck me as the perfect subject for a #painting #allotment
Corfe Castle is most famous for its part in The English Civil war in the 17th Century. At this time, it was owned by Sir John Bankes, Lord Chief Justice to King Charles I. Well, he fell out with Oliver Cromwell, so Cromwell had the place blown up!
