"Hoppers" Review - Pixar Leans into the Funny and Weird with Terrific Results
Pixar's latest gets a little goofier and darker.
My review of #Hoppers, as Pixar delivers a very funny and delightfully weird movie (but it still sneaks in a bit to make you cry!)
And hey, if you'd be so inclined to subscribe to my newsletter -- especially at a paid tier -- I would be most grateful!

I’m so happy I finished the book just before the first teaser trailer came out (which basically reveals everything). Hear great things from everybody who’s seen the flick, though.

I hate that we are living in times where it feels the only thing we can do is triage those affected. Where charity is the only weapon against the worst people in the world. But if you can fix something for someone today, please do it. A lot of folks are asking for help, maybe throw them some.

#ProjectHailMary is terrific. Prepare to feel all the emotions (seriously, since I laughed a lot and then had full on tears streaming down my face a couple of times)

Star Wars fan art featuring the characters from the original trilogy: Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Obi Wan Kenobi, Lando, C3PO, R2D2, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Yoda, Boba Fett and Jabba
The biggest of these collages I’ve done so far, this one came as a request from a relative who’s a big Star Wars fan (an older one too, one of the OGs!)

There's no better metaphor for modern fandom than Breaking Bad and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms fans review bombing each other on IMDB so their show has the best score and lowering both scores in the process.

Last night I watched two different Youtube videos that were objectively wrong - which I knew because I had been present at the events in question - and it really highlights the old saying: The more I read online about things I'm an expert in, the less I trust anything I read on the internet at all.

I can't even express how important it is to see someone who was willing to give up the thing she was best at, that some would say she was born to do. To only come back when she could love it again, and do it on her own terms. And then win a gold medal BECAUSE she found the joy and the fun in it.

THIS. Modern audiences sometimes equate a character being challenged with the writer wanting to punish them. That’s not how it works.

My friends and I were obsessed with this music video in 2007.
It's a cover of Lightning Strikes by Klaus Nomi. I didn't know it was a cover, so whenever I hear the original I'm like "why doesn't this have classically trained opera in it? This is boring."
It is perfection.
