On the heather covered hill top are the remains of an entrance grave. The eroded side entrance walls and the perched capstone are slabs of white porphyritic granite. The sea in beyond the cliff face is calm, the sky is overcast.

Over 4000 years ago, an island people left a tribute on the hillside with this entrance grave. A memorial to an individual? A communal shrine? Through the mists of time, the purpose has been obscured, yet the soul of those ancients lingers in the land.

On that 'Pale Blue Dot' have been queens, tyrants, poets, thieves, lovers. Each vibrant sparks of life, or hellish deniers of life. Each believing themselves immortal, yet each crossing the Horizon. And all the while, this pale blue dot journeys onward, dismissive of its vainglorious passengers.

A 1925 red leather bound edition of House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne. A little torn and worn but so would we all be at 100 years old!

This book is 100 years old next month. I will be picking it up from a restorer tomorrow, and hope that it will now last another 100. #AAMilne #Houseatpoohcorner

A raw, unprocessed photograph taken at night with a camera on a tripod with c. 15 mins time lapse showing short star trails. The name Roger has been written using a head torch partly revealed to the camera as it traversed the path of each of the letters of the name.

No photo manipulation, just time lapse and a head torch.
