Think I’ve nearly finished Metroid Dread. I mostly liked it apart from the EMMIs. I suppose they do leave you with a feeling of dread so the name is accurate.

Never trust that a rarely used/unfamiliar function does what you expect. Check the source code if possible, or documentation if that's all you've got. Also find out where else you've used it before for context.

You can even write a couple of quick hacky tests to make sure it does what you expect.

I guess this goes in line with how I visited a once thriving shopping town but now all the shops are closed and only the gambling place was open and the streets were full of wasted people.

Yeah that's pretty bad. Just gun-adjacent stuff + a culture going on about guns all the time is I guess free advertising.

Youtube has show me about 3 ads for gambling this morning. I think it's a bit crazy that in 2025 we can have ads for gambling and alcohol. Two very addictive and destructive things. I know that smoking ads have been gone for a while.

What about gun ads in the US? Are they a thing?

I use 30 as a conservative value. Sometimes it's only 20, but other times it's 100! May depend on age of game, genre and other factors.

I've never seen any data on the ratio for free games but yes I'd guess higher.

Based on follower count it does have a crapload of wishlists. Though it will also need a lot of luck/marketing/whatever to sell enough to meet their targets. Perhaps being multiplatform will help, if they get a deal like GamePass.
