The knee jerk reaction to anything “woke” these days is so sad because it shuts down discussions and thought before they even start 😔 you can’t talk to these people.

I look back on the show now and realize it had plenty of problematic elements, as well as Tim Allen being generally sexist (towards other men) even in the 90s. But it meant a lot to me and I’m glad to know that the show had its hidden gems too.

This is heartwarming! When I was about 9-11 years old I was obsessed with home improvement, and only partly because I had a crush on JTT. I think it was a place where I could experience masculinity and male bonding without being judged or gendered, long before I actually knew that’s what I needed
