Here's the thing: bonus login rewards outside of a season pass benefit the game by bringing in consistent players. They're worth their weight in gold. This is putting a price tag on the login rewards, essentially, and trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Seems they didn't sell as many at $10 a pop as they wanted, esp. as the newest one went back to the slightly less skeevy $7 price. I have two siblings who play this game with me, and a $5 pass is fine, but $10 is how much the whole entire season pass costs.
