It's great! I've counted 6 different "unofficial" clues that have popped up, all featuring staff members πŸ˜† (the students are clearly avoiding revision for their mocks next week...!)

Phew, thought I was missing something πŸ˜…
I like how it's seemingly a special question for 2025, but could be adapted to any year by just changing the limits!

Is k 2025 or 4050 in your top answer?

In #MathsToday my #ALevelMaths students have been creating their own Elf on the Shelf puzzles using teachers in the maths department (mine is below) and sticking them anonymously around the corridors. They think they are incredibly funny and are very pleased with themselves 🀣

Yes. I show them the curve of the original function y=(...)^n on Desmos, and then a second curve of the expansion where we keep adding on terms, to show that although adding subsequent terms makes the approximation better, it is only really a good approximation for a small range of values of x.

My friends and family call me "Em" (which I like) but I always find it a bit uncomfortable when people who I've just met or who don't know me very well start calling me it. I don't say anything, but it always feels a bit presumptuous πŸ˜…

Live from Space: ISS Tank Watch - Peeonauts Real-time monitoring of the International Space Station's tank levels - urine, waste water, and clean water.

The International Space Station has a tank that converts urine back into drinking water. You can see up to date levels of all the waste tanks online.

In #MathsToday I sent out a teaser on Teams for the Elf on the Shelf competition, then at the end of the day my colleague and I stuck 31 puzzles on the walls around our teaching area ready for Monday morning πŸ˜…πŸŽ„

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Maybe it's because by the time my students get to me, they already have an understanding of using the graphs from school. If a student was happy with using a circle then I wouldn't discourage it, but I certainly wouldn't teach it that way.

It's the drawing a cross and marking on 4 angles and deciding which quadrant is positive and all the other faffing about that I have an issue with. Compared with the graph, where you just draw a horizontal line across and go "oh, it's that" πŸ˜…

Every time something happens (graph changes direction or crosses the x axis) it's another 90Β° or Ο€/2. It's not any harder to remember than on a circle.
