My #hypothetical illustrates the immense power of social participation and how we allow ourselves and our communities to understand the world.

Single issue voting is archaic.
Vibes voting is foolish.
Party line voting is lazy.
Avoiding voting is cowardly.

Being engaged is power.

With that dissent is all but crushed, anything pulling on the military strength of the federal government will be justifiably put down without restraint.

For why would any true patriot of the great #UnitedStatesOfAmerica choose to risk weakening its country in a time of strife?

Of course this martyrizes Trump, pushing #MAGA to fight for revenge of their now-cemented veneration of Trump. His death manifests an undeniable distraction and enemy for the #USA to focus on entirely. Paramount.

This is the justification for a countrywide state of emergency and wartime powers.

Then when he dies and the #Republicans refuse to let the truth you, Putin pulls real #supervillain shit and broadcasts to the world to take credit for the hit.

He taunts us, gloating how he's so powerful not even Trump himself could defend against his will.

#JDVance makes a rallying cry, to fight!

Saddest timeline I can concoct right now is it turns out #Trump is fatally dying due to being poisoned by #Putin some radiation tea. Like, literally the exact way he's been assassinating dissenters for years is what Trump is foolish enough to trust him on.

The most moral way to wield power is to ensure it benefits others above all else.

Trump has such a hold in the #midwest because if these people didn't have "Little Miss" beauty pageants their county fairs wouldn't have any headliner-level events.

This is the natural outcome of #Boomers being allowed to believe "Do as I say, not as I do." was an appropriate parental attitude.

Ego protection is all their attitudes have ever been focused on.

I've spent years trying to get them to pay enough attention to realize how I (all but literally) haven't brought up politics in YEARS.

I'm constantly on defense with him.
Best part is when I remind him, he argues and presses me all the same.

I'm forced to decide if we'll fight and upset Mom.

"Hey Dad, remember, we agreed we wouldn't talk politics?"

I had to be the one to say that.

The expectations agreed upon between him, Mom and myself were that it must be me who says it. It was clearly framed as my responsibility because the political discourse was primarily because of me.

I found out because I'd go on to learn in the coming years that he had become so incessant that Mom had to directly ask him to tone down his complaining about work, and then politics.

By this time I'd all but been forced to swear to them I would gently remind Dad, whenever politics came up...

From then on his frustrations and exasperation over most things #Liberal began to escalate, both in frequency and intensity.

Not simply anger, no what became clear by late 2012 was that he was ever-more-staunchly resisting discussions. Instead they were thinly-veiled #VentSessions for him.

Within a couple years he'd visit me in #Chicago with my family, staying nearby in #Boystown and so we'd walk to dinner. Not even a few blocks in and he's miming and voicing mocking gestures about a gay man walking in front of us on the sidewalk while trying to get my brother to join in.

What breaks my heart about this #MAGA insanity is that I had just put my relationship back together with my father in 2008. It really felt like there was a future as friends, or even peers.

He was gardening when I came over to try hanging out. We shared a beer and I felt optimistic.

Imagine being Republican right now in front of your peers, having spent years railing against executive orders, bloated-with-pork bills and advocating for a slow moving and considerate government.

Then you celebrate the Big Beautiful Bill being passed.

What say you?

Boomers have so grossly malformed the idea of "Respect your elders.", transforming it from "Listen to..." for the sake of learning from and acknowledging the experiences passed.

Now they won't even acknowledge their real meaning: "deference".

Absolutely not. Make your elders earn their respect.
