The hemispheric terms are not useful though. East and south Asian traditions are so different, philosophy in the tradition originating in Europe is not confined to a “western” hemisphere. I use “Euro” philosophy to refer to that tradition, including its offshoots around the world.
We speak of “eighteenth-century philosophy.” It’s not monolithic either, but it can be a serviceable category.
