يبرز في الرسم السيف فشكله شبيه بالدوساك ومن المميز وجود شخصية "شرقية" في هذا الرسم تحديدا سوا غيره.

وربما حاول الرسام بتجسيد شخصية تقاتل بهذا "السيف الشرقي" في فترة لعب الاستشراق دورا مهما في تكوين الهويات الاوروبية. السؤال مفتوح.

في الكتاب رسوم تفصل كيفية استخدام انواع من الأسلحة، الضرب والصد والملاكمة، الخ.

يهدف الرسم الى تفسير استخدام ما يعرف في ذاك الحين بسيف "دوساك" في المراجع الألمانية وما يوازي بالعربية القطلس او السيف الضالع.
