I think some visual world paradigm stuff would work where you can model proportions of each condition! Would be willing to provide data and or help

The sequel: slopes

Reminds me of that one horror movie called regression (it was not about modeling)

Fascinating case study for sociologists of science – a long paper on trustworthiness of science that never uses the word "fraud". It does mention "misconduct", but only once...

Yesterday at the show someone yelled β€œsing Eaten” and his response was perfect! He said β€œYou don’t sing eaten. Also, I didn’t even fucking play on that song. Peter did.” πŸ˜‚

Made a comment about this the other day. I rejected a paper several times for low quality and I saw it ended up in frontiers with absolutely no changes. It makes me so angry that stuff like this happens.

Makes me feel good to know that a paper, no matter how bad it is, will always have a home with Frontiers journals :/

What's new in the world of Generalized Additive Models YouTube video by Bottom of the Heap

🚨 GAMs have moved onβ€”so it’s time for an update.

On March 3, 2026 (17:00–19:00 CET) I’ll be livestreaming an updated introduction to Generalized Additive Models in R

You should read the memory literature where items are not even acknowledged 🀣

Don’t know if the perfect solution exists or will ever exist. I'm just out here trying to be a decent researcher.

Want to add that @brodriguesco.bsky.social has been extremely helpful with getting nix working with my projects and is very responsive on rix GitHub to all questions!

I’ll take this over docker lol

For the most part collaborators done need to touch the nix specific files produced. They do need nix yes but nix-build and nix-shell is all they need to get started in a nix project you created. There is no extra R code on the collaborator side.

28.01.2026 12:19 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think you should give it another try @matti.vuorre.com!

All new software have sticking points but IMO nix with rix has been the least painful for me and gets us closest to idealized computational reproducibility we all like to talk about.

TLDR: Use Nix
