SNP have tried a slightly better tax system in Scotland and all we ever hear is how the richest are leaving, brain drain & you'll pay more tax in Scotland (except the poorest don't) yet don't get anything better for it.
Then cheap point scoring politicians & media can take a running jump!

Stormzy was down but he wasn't out.

He has a lot of training, rest and medicines to go but if this doesn't put a huge smile on your face nothing will!!

I have to take my greyhound Lucky away for a few days to avoid the worst of it, and even then he hides under the duvet with TV/music on, as otherwise he'd be trembling with fear. Can't take him out at 4pm for at least a month around 5 Nov ☹️

πŸŽ†We have received many first-hand accounts of companion animals urinating, shaking, pacing, panting, hiding and crying from fear of fireworks.
πŸ‘‰We're urging the Scottish Government to deliver on legislation- the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Act 2022- that has yet to be implemented.

He had no future. Brain damage from a whack from a car. His life was over.

Look at little Storm now just 9 days later.

He was down but he wasn't out ❀️

Yes in England (& I found a more recent BBC news article from Oct saying 3 months in a row, but the fact is, it's still down overall). Both NHS' seem to be understandably targeting those waiting over 52 weeks.

SNHS down 4 months in a row, for comparison.

Time will tell if it's a sign of concern or just fluctuations while overall picture stays on a downward trend.

Politicians aren't really interested in that nuance though. πŸ™„

Hospitals warn staff under pressure as NHS waiting lists rise The waiting list for planned hospital treatment in England rose for the second month in a row in July to its highest level since March.

They are focusing on recent months only, which are possibly just fluctuations? Both are down overall.

"Doctors say the NHS is struggling as new data shows the waiting list for routine treatment increasing for the second month in a row."

Farage: epic grifter

No one should be happy with that poll. It's embarrassing to think that many people are being taken in by Farage & allowing concerns about immigration to cloud their judgement & consider voting for someone that will make their lives worse in every other way.

So pretty much yes to that claim.

"The UK had the highest industrial electricity prices of all IEA members data is available for, and for domestic consumers, the UK had the highest electricity prices excluding taxes, and the second highest (behind Germany) including taxes."

I thought it was bad enough seeing Halloween decorations at the start of October. Oct 23 for Christmas lights should merit some sort of punishment, like Xmas tunes broadcast in their house 24/7 for 2 months after Christmas.

It's almost as if 2024's massive rejection of mealy-mouthed, downward-spiral, centre-right, blame-the-poor, end-game-capitalism, austerity-obsessed politics was a signal to Labour that the country was desperate for something else.

Scotland should not foot the bill for Trump costs Scotland should not foot the bill for Trump costs - Scotland should not pay a penny for Trump and Vance visits.

Scotland should not pay a penny!

It was Starmer who rolled out the red carpet.

He can't appease men like Trump and Vance while expecting it to be funded by the Scottish taxpayer.

Rachel Reeves’ budget must reduce inequalities and increase spending capacity of the masses This is how to secure sustained economic growth

685,000 Britons has wealth of Β£2.8 trillion, 48m have Β£2.4trn.

4 people have more wealth than 20m Britons.

Bottom 50% of the population has 5% of wealth, the bottom fifth only 0.5%.

Rich buy political parties, legislators; hold govts to ransom.

Can't get economic growth without redistribution.

More than ANYTHING in recent years, we should read this short piece by @stephenkb.bsky.social . And then share it as widely as possible with family, friends and associates, so nobody can have the excuse of not knowing what a Tory vote would mean.

They Helped Topple Roe v. Wade. Now Their Sights Are Set on Britain.

"Until now, public knowledge about the relationship between Reform U.K. and the A.D.F. was limited to a single quote Mr. Farage gave to the group, which they pushed out in a press statement. But the A.D.F. has quietly been courting the party since at least 2024."

So, Reform would rocket-boost austerity, slash welfare *but not taxes*, cancel net zero progress, do mass deportations, huff out of the ECHR (torching the Brexit deal and our human rights)…
And to top it all off, there’d be this gem of US-funded christofascist authoritarianism on offer too.

If Fraser wasn't such an arse, he'd maybe be more worried about getting a manager that was good at his job. I suppose as a politician, particularly a Tory, the concept of being good at your job isn't high on the agenda.
