Great work as ever from the Mountain Bothies Association volunteers.
04.08.2025 07:40 — 👍 45 🔁 4 💬 0 📌 0Planned a munro today but my wife woke up a bit run down but I was in the "I need to see mountains again Gandalf" zone, so with wifely blessing (I didn't just abandon her), I took myself up a couple of Corbetts, The Brack and Cnoc Còinnich. An almost scramble ascent in places and then pathless bits.

We all know about Munro-bagging - but are you a hill-bagging obsessive? Our updated 'All hills' map now lets you show your progress against the categories of hills you have started recording.

Have you walked the new Glencoe Orbital?
An underpass by the Allt na Mhuidhe beneath the A82 on the Glencoe Greenway is open, finally enabling the Orbital path to live up to its name. The path loops around the lower end of Glencoe.

It was too hot yesterday to go over Mullach Fraoch-choire and A’ Chraileag after coming down from
a magnificent bivvy on Sgurr nan Ceathramhnan but a bonus was meeting the inspiring @nicklifeafloat.bsky.social on the final leg of his Four Corners Walk (I’m not that tall BTW - standing on a stone)

This may look cute, but trig points only do this when they're very distressed.

Take care in this heat folks! MWIS has something about an inconvenient breeze, but one would be very convenient right now.
