The Tower of Babel is a biblical allegory about mankind being punished and scattered by God for its hubris in trying to reach Heaven. In FFXVI, the Sagespire is a tower where the Fallen tried to unlock the secrets of the gods, leading to the collapse of their civilisation.

I may be biased but I think it’s pretty awesome

One renowned medieval myth concerns the hero Tristan escorting Princess Isolde to marry his noble uncle, but the two fall in love. This is alluded to in FFXVI when Clive takes Jill to meet his Uncle Byron at Port Isolde, en route to Mt. Drustanus - Tristan’s Latin name.

During Final Fantasy XVI, Clive and Gav find Edda, a pregnant survivor of the atrocities in Waloed. It is she who explains the Arche myth, a foretold doom that resembles the Norse Ragnarök. As it happens, the main sources of Norse lore are the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda books.
