Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.
Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
What these nihilistic vandals are doing to dismantle science & medicine—generations of expertise & public service & life improving benefits—is cultural revolution level national self harm. Well, we knew they would blame the plane crash on DEI, and Trump's sycophants will just nod their heads even though it is a nonsensical claim. I don't know how Republicans live with themselves. I really don't. And frankly, most of those Democrats, too, as they put up no resistance.
It's an excellent time to prioritize research and action aimed at protecting the health of the planet. I've set up a recurring donation to The Union of Concerned Scientists and suggest considering a similar action.
