...as the 2025 qualifiers will get bumped to 2027 and there will be no 2026 qualifiers.

I was planning on competing in Youmacon's ICL qualifier.

Youmacon will still have a Cosplay World Masters (CWM) qualifier, so I might still go and compete, but losing ICL is a major bummer...

For those who didn't hear over on IG, International Cosplay League 2026 in Madrid ESP won't be happening because the host con (Japan Weekend Madrid) is conflicting with the new Formula 1 race in Madrid in September, and obviously, F1 wins out.

Thus, Youmacon 2026 will not have an ICL qualifier...

In solidarity with the American Anti-ICE Labour strike today, we will not be doing any promotion today. As Canadians, we are very aware of what is going on just outside our borders. We are thinking of our friends and family in the US, as well as our clients and fellow cosplay community members. This situation is completely fucked up, top to bottom, on so many levels. There’s really no other way to say it. I have to be candid. It’s fucked up! It’s fucked up that the Trump administration is hunting and kidnapping people from the streets, and it’s fucked up that people still have to go to work to pay the bills and survive while that’s happening. It’s fucked up that so many people are scared, hurting and afraid, both inside the US and out of it. It’s just fucked up!

Making art in a time like this is really strange, and really hard. I don’t just mean us as a business, I mean artists as a whole. Humans need to create to thrive, even when it feels like the world is breaking apart under our feet. Art enriches our lives; that’s why fascism despises it. If you have even one minute of extra time or energy today, or any day, you should make a little art, even if it’s just a doodle on a napkin. You’ll have made more of value than pieces of shit like Greg Bovino or Tom Homan have in their entire lives, and that matters. So while we have to keep working to keep our artists employed, this is to say: fuck fascism, fuck the Trump administration, fuck ICE. Solidarity forever.

Repeating: NOW is a good time to shovel if you've switched from snow to sleet. 1-3" of sleet (which is many times heavier than snow) on top of this snow will make it MUCH harder to clear later.
