One of the famous altissimo books says up front that it doesn't try to explain the physical aspect at all because it has to be learned by feel, which sounds about right, it mostly just lays out overtone exercises that in theory should get you closer
Common explanation by players is "raise the back of the tongue like you're making an E vowel sound or hissing", but scientists saw a low tongue, constricted glottis, high/ domed soft palate. This video is fascinating but has maybe also cost me what little altissimo I had:
in my kayaking days there was a waterfall where you had to aim at a rock just past the lip... if you actually hit it you'd likely go over the edge sideways and maybe drown but trying to hit it was the only way get far enough left not to break your ankles. had to try to do it wrong to do it right.

Dipping into late January but would also recommend both "As of Now" by Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon (think motormouthed Southern rapper on the sort of beats they usually give MIKE or Earl) and "Kilter" by Tinned Meats (sound sort of like "Beat" era King Crimson with a little Gang of Four in there).
