A screenshot of the Mediazona '200' project interface displaying a landscape composed of thousands of small portrait photographs. The aggregate image forms a desolate scene of a mass grave under a grey sky, with a total casualty count of 203,306 visible at the bottom. A zoomed-in screenshot of the Mediazona memorial interface, revealing that the textured landscape is a mosaic of individual portrait photos of deceased soldiers. The grid layout becomes distinct, showing rows of faces that collectively form the larger image.

[SPOTTED] A named list and map of verified Russian casualties in the war against Ukraine, compiled by Mediazona ( @en.zona.media ) using open-source data and official obituaries.

First in 2013 with his Chartwell, released by Vectro Type Foundry. A brilliant typeface using ligatures to draw charts. Such a smart idea.

Then around 2019 with his platform Future Fonts. An idea so simple and bright that you wonder why nobody did it before.

Small world.
