#Bulbophyllum odoratissimum. Vaguely fragrant of some kind of melon soap substance. This plant is only loosely associated with the cedar shingle it was given as a mount. Some roots are attached, but the bulk of the plant exists as a hairball in front of the mount.

Lamps are the popular Barrina “full spectrum” 42W plant light LEDs. 2 tubes, ~6-8 inches from the foliage.

There are several of this cross in net baskets hung along the back side of this shelf. Over the last few years they have fused into one mass of roots and foliage. Maybe I’ll be able to get them apart…Maybe I won’t…maybe I’ll just wait until they weigh down chicken wire and then free them en masse.

This photo sucks because it was taken under the cheap LED lights this seedling has been living under for the past few years, and the exposure and color balance are all out of whack. But. This is your sign that it is possible to bloom #Cattleya schilleriana under artificial lights. #orchids
