No- my original point is that the GENIUS ACT regulates stablecoin so that the issuer profits from the interest, but not the user, but then I’ve gone of on other tangents about the problems that the currency(backed by the U.S.) creates by making it easier for grifters to grift.

I get it- I agree. But regular ppl WILL buy crypto bc issuers will market it to them. As an individual decision I totally agree- but as a currency policy it’s bad juju.

And bad actors will exploit it—because the rules focus on helping bond markets, not stopping crime.

It bans yield to users, removes FDIC protections, and mandates backing with Treasuries.

That’s the sales pitch -but in practice, “bankruptcy-remote” doesn’t mean risk-free. If the issuer mismanages funds, gets hacked, or delays redemptions, you still wait in line. No FDIC, no SIPC, no recourse. It’s public risk wrapped in fintech jargon.

Exactly- the bill bans passing interest to stablecoin users, so banks keep their edge. But that just proves the point: your $$ still props up U.S. debt, you take the risk, and someone else takes the profit. That’s not safety -it’s exploitation by design.

Smart question: The risk is this: your $$ backs U.S. debt via stablecoins, but you get no interest — the issuer does. If it fails? You eat the loss. No FDIC insurance. Public takes the risk, private takes the profit. That’s what “socialized risk” means.

Not enough is said about lives lost bc of Epstein & the powerful men who abused children on his island.
Books that were never written. Cures that were never discovered. Dreams that were never lived.
The victims didn’t just lose their innocence—they lost everything.
And the abusers? They got richer.

So while both might be backed by Treasuries, one serves the public — the other privatizes the gain while socializing the risk.
That’s the concern.

But instead of the public benefiting from the interest, the private issuer keeps the profits — even though the system depends on public debt and public infrastructure.
