Just found a wonderful historical performance of the Dream of Gerontius on Utube. Boult, Pears, Shirley-Quirk and Janet Baker. All singing from memory. Ponderous in places and rather odd visual effects but truth is it moved me to tears, esp. Pears's heartfelt performance
