A trans friend of mine confided in me this morning that he had tried to take his life a few weeks ago. His mom has been dx'd with cancer (prognosis unclear), and he lost his job. He is struggling so hard. I wish I could do more for him. I pledge to listen more, hear better, remind him I care.

I met with Congresswoman Marilyn Stricland last week. She said that she thinks we are looking at "Reconstruction 2.0" in the years ahead. We need to be ready. We need a plan. We cannot pass away the opportunity to truly build back better.

My corgi is recovering from a staph infection that happened when repeated UTIs migrated to her kidneys. She was sooo sick. The right antibiotics really are a marvel.
