Nyoom? Well, not very nyoom. Given how lousy that corner usually is with debris, oil, and other crap, I was keeping it well below 40 on the approach. Lost control below that. Speed limit 50 there, but dark, lousy and wet in a known sketchy spot left me riding cautious.

Most irritating thing is, I *just* put fresh pads in my brakes, new rotor on the front, and there's hydraulic oil all over them. Ruined. Both brakes are utterly destroyed, brake lines are shredded, one lever's beyond salvaging, and most of the handlebar electronics got scraped off or ground to bits.

I just want you to know that if you randomly dump crap in a lane, our city is dumb and won't sweep regularly, so someone's going to lose a tire or wreck their bike on that.

Mildly annoyed. Hit someone's random smashed electronics plastic bits in the road while braking, rear tire picked up a piece and skated. Promptly hit the pavement myself.

I was reading an article yesterday about a woman calling for e-bikes to be banned after being hit and seriously injured by a cyclist. And yes, her injuries were awful, but we allow cars to kill and maim regularly and no one ever calls for them to even be *limited* in any way.
